This small city surrounded by natural wonders is one of the most picturesque in Argentina. Located 240 km north from Bariloche through the “7 lakes road”, San Martín de Los Andes is a charming mountain town of 38,000 inhabitants that looks like a scenery from a storybook.
The town is considered the tourism capital of the Neuquén region because its infrastructure here is excellent, with every lodging option imaginable (except the ultra-luxurious) and plenty of great restaurants. San Martín is quieter than Bariloche and overflows with activities including biking, hiking, boating, and skiing. The town is also very popular for hunting and fishing, but some do come just to relax or golf.
