Another gem in local golf history!
It is an exigent par 73 of 6,629 yards characterized by its very good maintenance and a great forestation. A couple of water hazards, some out of bounds, and bunkers constitute the main protections of the course. But what makes Ranelagh stand out is its tradition, as it is the ‘cradle’ of the best Argentine golfer of the history, Roberto De Vicenzo (The Open winner in 1967, and the first US Senior Open Champion), who has been living a couple of blocks from the clubhouse since he was a young kid
The 6th hole, a 159 yards par 3, is uphill and you need to fly 130 yards to clear the water hazard. From the end of that small lagoon you have only 15 steps to the entrance. The elevated green is small (32 long x 22 wide), shaped in triangle, and run fast to the front, protected by three bunkers, two shorts on each side, and an invisible one hiden on the left. A bad kick on the right wall of the green may send your ball out of bounds!!! Be carefull.
